I. Introductions/Announcements:
Introductions were made and updates given.
II. Membership:
The 2006 SEP grant application has been submitted to the Department
of Development and has gotten positive feedback on the packet.
The tri-fold marketing brochure is in the process
of being modified; Kim L. will send a draft out for review the
middle of May and anticipates
it’s completion by the end of the month.
A Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map of the Westwood – Western
Hills area was presented as a tool to coordinate refueling stations
locations with postal delivery routes in that area. Kim L. plans
to work with Dave Combs from the post office to develop convenient
E85 refueling locations for postal carriers. Additional E85 locations
are also being explored to service the post office fleet. Hart
M. suggested that mobile fuel technology may be another option
where tanks are topped off routinely on site.
Kim L. assisted in the completion of the Southwest Ohio Regional
Transit Authority’s SEP grant application for the purchase
of three hybrid electric buses.
Kim L. will be attending the National Clean Cities conference in
Palm Springs during the week of
May 1. She will return on Monday, May 9. Several names were given
for networking opportunities during the conference.
III. Moving Forward:
The group supported the idea of pursuing memberships to encourage
ownership of the program. An “A” list of prospective
members was developed. It was recommended to pitch the membership
benefits to CEOs and to those in high levels, in person rather
than sending out brochures.
The TSCFN goals included in the SEP grant application were briefly
reviewed as a guideline for determining activities of the group
for FY2005-2006.
Ready to Roll flyers were distributed and participants were encouraged
to attend as well as recruit associates. The seminar scheduled
for June 14 has the potential to be a fundraiser for TSCFN if over
30 individuals attend the one-day event.
Idle Reduction, Diesel Retrofits and Biodiesel Maintenance Payback
are three topics selected to be presented in this region as a part
of the “Just the Facts” series sponsored by the Ohio
coalitions during this year. (More information to follow.)
Hart M. suggested that TSCFN include the list retail locations
and distributors on its website.
The next meeting is scheduled for
Thursday, May 26, 2005, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at the Hamilton
County Department of Environmental Services.
Your attendance and participation as a steering
committee member is greatly valued and critical to the success
of this program. If you are unable to commit to this planning process,
